Day 25
by Aaron & Jennifer Smith
Scriptures
-
3 “You must not have any other god but me.
-
33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace, as in all the meetings of God’s holy people.
-
13 Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. 2 So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished.
-
4 The wife gives authority over her body to her husband, and the husband gives authority over his body to his wife.
-
18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.
-
2 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. 2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. 5 For, there is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. 6 He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone.
-
‘This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife,[a] 8 and the two are united into one.’[b] Since they are no longer two but one, 9 let no one split apart what God has joined together.”
-
41 When the ten other disciples heard what James and John had asked, they were indignant. 42 So Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. 43 But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else. 45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
