Day 26

by Aaron & Jennifer Smith

Avoiding God

Don’t be Adam

Do you avoid God because of shame from sin? It will ruin your relationship with Him.

Sin keeps you burdened. Sin will convince you that your are unworthy. Sin will convince you to isolate.

Without a repentant heart, sin will consume and destroy you and your marriage.

Sin begins as a thought and then moves into the heart as an intention that get carried out through actions.

Husbands and wives influence each other. Either toward godliness or ungodliness. That influence pours out from actions, behaviors and words.

Seek godliness, resist sin and desire to worship and please God.

Scriptures

  • 8 When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man[a] and his wife heard the Lord God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the Lord God among the trees.

  • 10 But I, the Lord, search all hearts

    and examine secret motives.

I give all people their due rewards,

according to what their actions deserve.”

  • 9 “And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the Lord sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.

  • People who conceal their sins will not prosper,

but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.

  • 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
