Day 6

by Aaron & Jennifer Smith

Be Reconciled

Reconciliation requires righteous action

I must choose to believe and confess Christ.

I must repent of my sins.

I must obey God.

In doing so life will reflect the grace that has been given.

No matter the circumstance I am to mirror God’s love.

Every action I take will affect my wife. Either positively or negatively.

I need to learn to walk in humility and offer freely forgiveness.

Don’t let pride, intellect or heart manipulate me. Let what Jesus gave me help to choose and deny those things for the sake o reconciliation.

Scriptures

  • For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son.

  • 18 Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone. 19 Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.

  • 17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

18 And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. 19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. 20 So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”

  • 6 Seek the Lord while you can find him.

Call on him now while he is near.

7 Let the wicked change their ways

and banish the very thought of doing wrong.

  • Repent of your wickedness and pray to the Lord. Perhaps he will forgive your evil thoughts,

  • Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it.

  • You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God.

  • Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.

  • leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.
